Due to the projected weather forecast for this weekend, we will wait to hang all items on the tree in front of the elementary school until Monday, January 21st - Thursday, January 24th


TODAY: Four students from Dexter; Kylee Bragg, Grace Henderson, Paiten Henderson and Lorelei Strausberg attended the county spelling bee in Winfield. All of the students represented our school well. Paiten Henderson walked away with 2nd place overall. We are very proud of all of them!

LAST WEEK: 8th Graders were perplexed whether the substance they observed was a liquid or solid. How can it behave as both!? And how is this similar to the rock just below the Earth’s crust.





NHS is having their annual Valentine's Day sale. The sale will end on February 11th.

STEAM students are currently working on robotics, circuit building, and programming a rover.




The Cardinal Chow Cart began this week as an educational tool for the Life Skills Classroom. All students have the option to purchase popcorn and water Monday and Tuesday afternoons for $.75 each.





Second semester STEAM class worked on team-building this week. We had stronger teamwork than we had coordination.


Circle of Friends program will be starting up soon. If students are interested in being apart of this program, see the information attached. The contact person for the program is Ms. Lowe; here at the school.



TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE: 16 boxes full of food were delivered today throughout Dexter! The remaining food was delivered to the food pantry at the Dexter Outreach Church and the Dexter blessing box that is located behind the museum. Those in need of utilizing the food pantry can call 620-229-.0060. Thank you all for helping us complete our December Community involvement project!! We had so much fun with this!





LAST WEEK: 7th grade was busy with sweet solutions; learning how temperature, pressure, stirring, and surface area affect the rate of how quickly a solute goes into a solvent to make a solution. Sugar cubes were crushed and stirred among other things to observe the differences. Students were also intrigued to watch a demonstration by Mr. Wise observing a styrofoam cup floating on water, but dissolving in acetone. So the type of solvent makes a difference too!




LAST WEEK: Tis the Season to Give Spirit Week was a HUGE success!! Here are the totals from the week:
60 potatoes
68 stuffing
88 cans of vegetables
62 cans of fruit
60 pie crusts
70 pie fillings
And $183 for Turkeys
Everything donated will be given to needing families around our community. A BIG Thank You to everyone who participated and brought items everyday!


LAST WEEK: We finished up with Pajamas for the our Spirit Week "Tis the Season to Give." Everyone looked super cozy!!





LAST WEEK: STEAM class hard at work calculating dimensions! To win the theme park competition, all aspects must be drawn to scale.





TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE: Today's theme was "Holiday Family Photo" students were instructed to wear flannel if they brought a pie crust or filling. Great lookin' flannels!!
Tomorrow the theme is "Long Winters Nap" students wear their PJ with a donation of $1 to help buy turkeys.




DEC. 18: There has been an added game next Tuesday. HS Basketball will play Palco at Pratt Community College. The games will be Varsity only starting at 4:opm for Girls and 5:45pm for Boys.

TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE: Yesterday's theme was "Holiday Headwear" if students brought either boxed potatoes or stuffing. Lots of good festive headwear!!
Today's theme is "Holiday Photo" students are to wear flannel. Pictures coming soon!

TONIGHT: HS Spartan Basketball host the Central-Burden Raiders at Dexter. Tip off starts at 4:30pm with 2-Quarters of JV Girls followed by 3-Quarters of JV Boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. GOOD LUCK!! GO SPARTANS!!

TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE: Today's theme was "Ugly Sweater" if they brought a canned item. (Fruit for elementary, vegetable for MS/HS). We had a great turn out of sweaters and items!
Tomorrow's theme is "Holiday headwear" if Elementary students bring a box of stuffing or MS/HS students brings a box of potatoes.
